For as long as I can remember, I have had a love affair with Velvet! Sensual, Silky smooth and soft with a thousand different personalities. It adds texture and richness to a space like nothing else can. Whether classic cotton velvets, shiny rayon or polyester or firm and hard wearing mohair – they all speak luxury. Some, like the mohair velvets require a bit of a big gulp when it comes to the price but its classic look can last for 50 years of everyday use. That is a value hard to argue with and a great overall investment. Today we also have a myriad of printed velvets available to choose from, along with the ability to custom print ANY pattern onto velvet. The sensual options are endless.
Every space deserves a little touch of it – or a LOT! From a classic wing chair to a grouping of pillows. It plays well with art, leather, linen and any other texture and it’s hard to have it be wrong when it’s sewn and or applied well by your upholsterer.
