Custom Built-ins and Furniture
We do a wide variety of very customized builds for upholstery. Everything from Headboard Walls, to full bed builds, custom furniture, window seating, kitchen banquettes etc. Typically these are going into renovations or new home builds – and sometimes just a re-do of an existing piece. Each piece of course is a collaboration between us, the homeowner and typically a millwork team that may provide some or all of the cabinetry and backing required for the project. Each one is a unique set of circumstances and a unique process. We would typically need your drawings, your concept photos and some input before we get to an actual meeting in person. Most projects will require that before proceeding.
CUSTOM
What makes Studio 1867 unique is that we have the ability to customize or build almost any piece of furniture. The possibilities to our customizing abilities are as vast as one’s imagination. Production time for these pieces may take longer, but they are well worth the wait.
Our upholsterers are encouraged to take their time to ensure that we are producing a quality product that we can be proud of. Prices will vary depending on the style of furniture, and the pieces being made.
Customizing existing pieces is also possible in many cases – arm style changes as well as even how it is upholstered can drastically change or update the look.
PRODUCTION TIME
At Studio 1867, we make our frames as the orders come in. We do not stock frames because of the fact that we do offer the ability to customize. Also, we make it our policy not to make the frames before the fabric arrives to us.
Some fabrics may take weeks for delivery and we do not want to take the risk of the frame being damaged while on the floor waiting to be upholstered. We are producing a top of the line product that is hand crafted for the individual.
