Fabric Printing
After 20 plus years of working with wide-format printers, for paper and canvas prints, and attempts at fabric printing, we committed ourselves to a dedicated Fabric Printer for printing our fabrics in-house. After much research and contemplation – we chose the Mimaki TX300P-1800MK II Printer with two different ink sets – to allow us the widest range of possible fabric options. In upholstery of course – we need high wearability as well as textural options, but did not want to be limited to ONLY that.
We have our “Maki” set up for sublimation transfer into any polyester fabrics – giving us a very wide range of upholstery and design options. From lovely textural linen-looks, to exquisite velvets that pop with colour. Our other ink set is pigment/dye combination for all of our natural fibre fabrics. We can print any cotton, linen, hemp, rayon or combination thereof. There is no ink wastage, water usage or high processing involved to give you top quality designer fabrics. We only print on fabrics we source and supply.
Both fabric inks – require a heat process. The sublimation transfers from a specialty paper to the fabric with heat – and the direct printed pigment prints – are made permanent with a heat set process. We have a wide roll press capable of doing both.
The wide variety of fabric options open to us – makes the possibilities quite endless. We are not aiming to be a print on demand service. There are others in the marketplace that serve that purpose better than we can, as each type of work is typically set up for a specific print setup. We will work with you if you have a project in mind that requires only the fabric, but we have a minimum order of 5 yards of fabric as the time involved to change fabrics or do small orders makes it not viable for you cost wise. We are focused on producing fabrics we can use in our own business – to create stunning one of a kind masterpieces for you.
Because we also produce our own line of table linens – we do have the capacity for a print, cut and sew option if you are looking to produce a fabric product. We do have wholesale pricing available for those options, but there is both a minimum setup charge and a minimum product order.
